Turns out the car was not as invincible as we thought. We snapped 2 springs and ruined one of our shock absorbers. Luckily the boys at Vladimir’s workshop got us ready to go in 3 hours - if you're ever in Kyrgyzstan look them up

Spent the last few days crossing the Pamir Highway, the second highest road in the world. The road has been a bit of a graveyard for rally cars but so far we’ve managed to escape with just one broken shock absorber - onwards to Kazakhstan
Found a great place to start a cult of Tina Turner lookalikes... Which way to turn now? Left or right? Dushanbe, Tajikistan - Bess getting raised a few inches before tackling the Pamir Highway, the second highest road in the world.

(Would this pass a MOT?) Finally made it!!! 10 hours at the border, but we are finally in Turkmenistan. Our convoy has also grown - now 5 teams trekking on together towards Mongolia. In Baku to catch the ferry across the Caspian Sea. No timetables - it leaves when it is full, so a lot of waiting around... Update - spent 24 hours waiting at the port and then due to bad weather spent 72 hours on the ferry, 62 of which were at anchor! During this time needed to improvise our way of having a shower...
