Lake Tuz - each team member reflecting on the progress so far and the journey ahead...

Setting a few land speed records the "1100cc 5-door Silver Suzuki (custom radiator)" category at the Lake Tuz salt flats with Team Breast Brigade in their Nissan Micra. Getting some much needed TLC, with Team Live Free Or Tri, before we hit sandland. Major radiator upgrade and redesign of Bess's beautiful front end to increase ventilation and air flow - (final images withheld due to the risk of McLaren copying the design for their next supercar...)
Things are looking up. A whole day without overheating. it must be the "70 max" sign added to Bess's rear... (Wish that was MPH rather than KPH!)
Heading to Istanbul... Say what you will about the communists but they can build a bloody good UFO Finally, after a camshaft was couriered from an auto salvage yard in Dorchester, UK and we are back on the road....!!!! Sadly the overheating problem is still with us - maybe we are asking too much of Bess... It was a massive day for us yesterday finally getting out of Czech, we drove 1,063km ending in Romania at the best road in the world (other than the A25 heading toward Godstone obviously). The car to experience Top Gear’s best road in the world is definitely a 2005 Suzuki that barely reaches 50... Turns out our mascot that Matt “found” at the launch party is actually a treasured possession of the hosts. It could have been difficult to get it back to them had we actually got far from the start line but since we were only 20 minutes down the road he thought he’d post it to them... So close - the engine was well on it's way to being rebuilt but the mechanics snapped the camshaft when re-installing it... Our troubles are getting worse. Where do you get a camshaft for a 2005 Suzuki Alto at 4.00pm on a Friday in the middle of the Czech Republic....? Looks like we will be here much longer.
